7 Skys team can provide easy solutions when it comes to flying pets. If you plan to fly with pets or if your pets will need to fly unaccompanied, you'll need to make sure you're following the laws and regulations of your country of origin, destination country and airline. We can assist you with everything related to the transportation of your pets. We have years of experience and we will make sure that your pets receive the best care and service, whether they are flying in the cabin, in the hold of the aircraft (as a "suitcase") or as an air shipment (cargo – unaccompanied by the owner).
This is not an easy question to answer, and in fact, there is no single correct answer to this question. Some documents are required to leave any country while others are required to enter the destination. Moreover, each airline has different rules and each airline may require additional documents. Taking all this into account, you may very well need to prepare quite a few documents (according to our experience it can be between 2-20 documents). Obtaining all these documents and filling them up properly can be an extremely difficult and challenging task. At 7 Skys, we can help you get the right paperwork and fill it out properly. We have the necessary knowledge for more than 200 countries in the world and our expertise continues to be updated regularly.
While we have experience with many pets, we mainly focus on dogs, cats and birds. Our fares may vary according to the type and size of the pet that needs to be transported and of course according to the destination of transportation. Please contact us for a no-obligation quote.
Most airlines will allow one pet on board with certain restrictions. Usually, only dogs and cats are allowed to be transported in a cabin, but some airlines will also accept birds and ferrets. A pet can fly in the cabin if it meets the weight limit. In addition, the size of the carrying case must be in the dimensions that the airline requires. It is important to remember that there are countries that allow pets to reach them solely as an air shipment. Due to this, pets to these countries will not be allowed to fly in the cabin or even in the hold of the aircraft as excess baggage (suitcase).
Yes, this is absolutely true. There are certain airlines that cannot carry pets in the hold of the aircraft (oversized cargo or as a cargo) during hot or cold periods. This type of embargo is designed to ensure the safety of your pets. We advise you not to book flight tickets until you consult with us.
Anesthesia and/or sedation are known to be the number one cause of death when flying pets (in our opinion, this figure says it all). In addition, it is important to know that most airlines will not accept animals that have been drugged/blurred.
We are very sorry but we do not rent flight cages. No company does this for a very simple reason – once you leave the country, we have no way of guaranteeing that the flight cage will return to us. In addition to this, sending the cage back to us will cost you more than purchasing it. However, subject to availability, we can offer you to purchase a used flight cage whose price is cheaper. In addition to this, you can also purchase a new flight cage from us and we will be happy to purchase it back at the end of the trip, at a price of up to 50% of the purchase price. Even in case the flight cage is purchased elsewhere, do not hesitate to check with us and we will give you a decent offer.
Yes, you can. It is not mandatory to use a pet carrier. However, there are some airlines that will accept pets for transportation only by a professional pet carrier. Even if you don't plan to be our clients, we highly recommend that you use a pet transportation company as this is their specialty. In most countries, the sanctions are very strict and we recommend not taking unnecessary risks with your animals.
It depends on all kinds of factors. To fly to some countries the procedure can take about one month of preparation. In contrast, other goals may require 3-4 months of preparation or even about six months! Why does it take so long? Many countries require a certain waiting period after performing a blood test. These waiting periods cannot be shortened! It is recommended that you contact us a few months before moving so that we can help you understand the requirements of your destination and the schedule you face.
In general, a pet should be able to sit, stand and move around (360) freely. It is important to know that there are many additional requirements and that each airline has its own rules.
We can help find your puppy. Our main role is to help you deal with the bureaucracy involved in flying your pets to and from Jordan
We recommend feeding your pet about 4-6 hours before departure, reducing your animal's risk of nausea and vomiting. It is also recommended to give a minimum amount of water to prevent the animal from flying with a full blister.
7 Skys is a freight forwarding company, we can assist you to ship your pet very simply This must be done at the same time as purchasing your ticket, unless your pet is flying as an air freight (cargo, unaccompanied). If your pet flies as an air freight, your flight ticket will have nothing to do with how the animal is delivered.
When selecting any company offering freight forwarding services you need to check how extensive their network is. Any freight forwarder should have an established and reliable international network to meet the requirements of its clients. The benefit of having these networks is that it helps truckload companies streamline their freight forwarding procedures. If they have a large network then it is likely that they will easily meet the demands of their clients. In case they do not have any presence in some countries, ensure that they have tie-ups with reputable agents in those countries, and they can rely on them.
Nowadays, it is necessary that freight trucking companies provide tracking facility to their clients. If freight forwarders offer round-the-clock tracking service so that the location of the shipment can be easily tracked, then it is better to work with this company. The benefit of a tracking facility that comes equipped with automated notifications is that it helps to better plans of logistical needs and also assists in creation of an alternate plan of action in case things go wrong. By being able to track the freight, you will have the peace of mind that everything is working out as planned.
Custom clearance is an integral and important part of the freight forwarding procedure and many of the freight trucking companies offer this service. If this service is not provided then it can create problems and put the supply chain into complete disarray. It is worth mentioning here that there are companies that only work as forwarders, which means that these companies are responsible for managing only transportation and logistics for the freights. In these situations, you will have to find a separate company that will be able to manage custom clearance details for you. Thus, it will be better to work with a company that offers custom clearance, both at the origin as well as the destination country.
Rates that are provided tend to vary depending upon different factors such as the volume of merchandise, carrier, etc. As such, it is better to get a quote quickly so that the freight can be planned out accordingly and deadlines can be met. Many truckload companies are now providing instant quotes when you apply online and it is also possible to book the freight online within the shortest period of time without having to visit the business in person.
It will be better to work with a company that is willing to provide a breakdown of services they provide and rates for the same. You need to be aware of the fact that some services like custom related fees and documentation charges are included in the rates by some of the freight forwarders, but not all of them.
Freight forwarder should be able to provide information about expenses that you will have to bear at the destination. Some of the common expenditures consist of delivery charges, terminal handling fees, and release fees. Freight forwarders should be aware of these expenditures and be able to share the cost you may have to bear.
There are many factors to be taken into consideration, which can increase your expenditure. These expenses depend upon factors such as destination, seasonality, freight being forwarded, and similar other details that are oftentimes beyond your control. An experienced freight forwarder will be aware of these additional charges and update you about the same.
You need to make sure the freight forwarding company you are working with is bonded and licensed to provide the required services. When you work with a bonded and licensed freight forwarder, you get the assurance that they will be following the regulations and provide standard rates and prices for the services they provide. Moreover, you will be able to easily put a complaint against them if you are not satisfied with the services received. In addition, when freight trucking companies are bonded then you get additional protection and will be reimbursed in case of any eventuality.
Import requirements vary from one destination to the other, even when the commodity is the same. The freight forwarder you appoint should be aware of these details so that you can prepare for things beforehand, such as getting a special license or making any necessary arrangements for extra documents that will be required.
You need to be aware of the fact that some of the freight forwarders provide packing services. It could be an in-house facility or they may outsource the work to some other company. Thus, you need to find a company that offers this additional service so that you have one less thing to worry about. When the company handles the work you will have the assurance that the freight will be properly packed as per requirements and statutory guidelines.
The best method of transport is dependent upon the time frames and locations involved. If you have a small shipment that is urgently required, airfreight would be the best method. If your goods have a longer lead time, moving by sea freight would be more cost-effective. In all cases, we will take the time to understand your needs and tailor the solution accordingly.
FCL (Full Container Load) means that you have full use of the container from start to finish, goods are loaded into the container which is then sealed and not opened again until it reaches its final destination. LCL (Less than container Load) means that your goods share space in a container with other goods going to the same destination. Goods would be collected and loaded into the container at a consolidation center. Once the container arrives at the destination port, it is taken to a warehouse for the goods to be cleared and unloaded ready for onward delivery. This is cost-effective for smaller consignments but can take longer due to the additional handling at both ports.
In the first instance, we will need to know the origin and destination of your shipment, along with the size of the shipment (Number of Pieces, Weight and Dimensions). We will also need to know what the goods are and consider whether they are hazardous for transport. You can request a quote using our online tool, or just give us a call!
Yes! All businesses Importing or Exporting need an EORI number. We can talk you through the application process with HMRC. It needs to be in place before shipment as it is part of the customs process.
Yes! We have a network of partners globally and are well placed to manage shipments that don’t physically move through the Jordan.
For International shipments, a Commercial Invoice & Packing List for the goods will be required. When dealing with some countries, you may also need additional documents such as a Certificate of Origin. We will be able to assist with identifying these documents and arranging them for you.
Customs processes when importing into the UK are more complex than exports in most cases. The timeframe for clearance cannot be guaranteed due to the number of agencies involved, but at Green Leaves Logistics we will work with you to have everything in place prior to shipment arrival and proactively manage your shipment to minimize delivery lead times.
The duty rating is dependent upon the Tariff Code applied to the consignment. We can assist with tariff code classification and provide an estimate of the Duty & VAT applicable. The Duty is calculated on the value of goods and the transport charges. VAT (16%) is charged on the value of the goods, transport charges and the Duty.
This is probably the most frequent question we get. It all comes down to 1) cost and time and 2) which one matters more to you. Within international freight, you have two major options: Option #1: Air Freight Air freight offers you two main advantages over ocean freight: faster speeds and less handling of your goods. However, that speed does come at a price. Air freight is generally more expensive than ocean freight. That being said, within air freight, you’ll have a menu of service levels to choose from. They range from the fastest speeds (and highest costs) of chartering a dedicated flight, all the way to the more cost-effective air freight consolidation. When the speed and handling of your goods are a consideration, air freight is your best option. However, if you’re more concerned with cost, you’ll likely want to consider the second option. Option #2: Ocean Freight Ocean freight is certainly the more budget-friendly option for moving goods internationally. However, at the end of the day, planes are simply faster than boats, so it will take longer to move your goods. Additionally, ocean freight is also subject to sailing schedules, meaning that you may need to wait a day or two to get your goods on a boat sailing to your destination. Ocean freight offers you two options, based on how much you want to transport: • FCL: A full container load, usually best for larger loads. However, with high-value shipments, many shippers choose the FCL option so their goods get their own, dedicated container for maximum protection. • LCL: A less-than-container load. Freight forwarders consolidate LCLs to create a full load, which can result in extra cost savings for you.
1.Decide what matters more to you: speed or cost. 2.Call your freight forwarder and get a quote. 3.Keep an open mind! Depending on your shipment, a consolidated air freight shipment might fit in your budget, or you might get a great LCL rate for ocean freight. That’s what makes a good relationship with a forwarder so valuable.
Many air freight and ocean freight carriers offer a minimal type of coverage, called carrier liability. Generally, this coverage is offered per pound or per item. However, you should know that it’s often not enough to cover the replacement value of your item. For example, let’s say you’re shipping a 1,000-pound solar panel, worth $1,200,000. If it’s damaged in transit, carrier liability will likely only pay out a fraction of this total value. Even if you always turn down insurance at the car rental booth, you should still consider dedicated air cargo or marine cargo insurance. Think of it this way: If you’re shipping an entire month of inventory and it gets damaged, that loss could have a disastrous effect on your business and its bottom line. Talk to your freight forwarder to understand your carrier’s exact liability—and to get a quote for full replacement value coverage.
Shipping and logistics experts often seem to speak a language all their own. To industry newcomers, it can feel intimidating. However, once you get some experience under your belt, you’ll be throwing jargon around with the best of them. One of the fastest ways to skillfully navigate the world of international freight is to establish a working relationship with a freight forwarder. The right forwarder can simplify the entire process for you by taking care of all of the details. If you need to arrange for logistics in a foreign country, establish new shipping routes or even set up regular pickups and deliveries, your freight forwarder can take care of it all. Additionally, the right forwarder can de-mystify any terms or concepts that feel new to you. They should also take the time to answer any additional questions you have, in order to help you make international freight an integrated part of your thriving business.
